What writing skills and knowledge do we learn about in Reception?
In Reception, we help children develop a wide range of writing skills with the end goals of:
writing recognisable letters, most of which are correctly formed;
spelling words by identifying sounds in them and representing the sounds with a letter or letters;
writing simple phrases and sentences that can be read by others.
