Welcome to Year 1

Carlton Hill for print-66(1)

What do we learn about?

Every day we learn reading, writing and mathematics skills, but we also learn about lots of other things! CLICK HERE to see half termly overviews of our curriculum.

Learning bags and library

Don't forget to bring your learning bag every day.  The children will be changing books regularly and this will be recorded in their home/school reading diary.  Children can also borrow books from our class library to share at home.  Books will be changed after the children have been heard ready in class.

Please read with your child as often as you can - it is the most helpful way to support their learning.

In Autumn children will read 1:1 with an adult during the week. We will then build up to guided reading sessions led by Mrs Appleton or Mrs Nicklin.

Library Day is Tuesday with Mrs Lewin
