Animated Character

During this project the children program a microcomputer to control servos and create a model with moving parts. In the slide show above there are images of children creating Krakens which rise above the waves. This followed two writing projects about 'The Kraken' by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

During this project children develop the following skills:

  • wiring a servo to a Crumble microcontroller
  • programming parts of the model to move backwards and forward
  • progrmming a model to respond to a button input
  • adapting and imrpoving programming
  • persevering when wiring or programming doesn't work
  • contrinuting ideas and listening to ideas
